Continuous password prompt while connecting Outlook 2007/2010 on Windows XP to Exchange Server 2013
If you try to connect Outlook 2007 or 2010 on Windows XP to Exchange Server 2013, you will face an issue of continuous password prompt for an account.
This issue is about some special kind of work with certificates in Windows XP.
Before you start solving this issue, please confirm that you have the latest available Service Pack for Office system is installed (for Office 2007 - SP3, for Office 2010 - SP2). When you install it, then please confirm that issue still persists. If still you have problems, try to run the following comandlet in Exchange Management Shell on the server with Client Access Server (CAS) role:
Set-OutlookProvider EXPR -CertPrincipalName:"msstd:owa.domain.com"
... where owa.domain.com - is your correct hostname for the CAS. By the way, that hostname must be included in Subject and in SAN (Subject Alternative Names) in certificate for CAS-server.
After you run the command, restart IIS (iisreset.exe) and check your Outlook.
